LOST ART by Jordan Betten + TWELV Magazine Fashion Week Party
February 14th, 2012 New York, NY- Lost Art + TWELV Magazine held a fashion week party yesterday at the Gansevoort Hotel Plunge Bar to preview the new high fashion magazine, set to launch in April, to a mix of artists, models, fashion industry insiders, musicians and executives.
Guests were shown images from completed shoots, jammed to a mix of House music, 80’s and 90’s rock and roll and multiple tribute sets to the late Whitney Houston; all while enjoying sponsored products from Absolut, Pippin Sake and Asahi Beer.
The collaboration with LOST ART came about through the extensive use of Jordan Betten’s designs in editorial shoots for the first issue of TWELV. With his selectiveness in lending samples to fashion publications, it is a rare opportunity for a new magazine to be given the privilege to use his notoriously rock + roll leather jackets and pants suits, one of a kind painted pieces, and real fur designs. His support of the magazine and friendship with Hissa Igarashi, the editor in chief of TWELV, will undoubtedly be integral to the future success of the magazine.
Hissa Igarashi, the editor in chief and creative director at TWELV is a seasoned fashion stylist who assisted world renowned stylists Joe Mckenna and Michael Philouze on shoots for magazines like Vogue Italia, L’Uomo vogue, V, I-D, L’Officiel and many more. Stepping out on his own creatively in 2007, and even serving as the creative director behind the one issue international success VIRGINE, his creative spirit and ability to draw inspiration from all elements of life has allowed him to create artful masterpieces out of coke cans, teddy bears and even skittles.
The core value of charity is particularly important to the magazine because Hissa’s ultimate goal is to raise enough funds to build a school in South Africa. And while working towards that goal, a minimum 12% of ALL sales dollars will be donated to various charities worldwide.
The preview party was just a taste of what’s to come, and with the theme of the first issue being LOVE, it’s more fitting than ever that the party occur just before Valentines Day.
